Abstract |
Klebsiella ozaenae, a rare non-fermenting gram-negative rod bacterium, has been described primarily as a colonizer of nasopharyngeal mucosa or a causative organism of chronic atropic rhinitis (ozena). Klebsiella ozaenae also causes deep-seated infections such as meningitis, brain abscess, and bacteremia; however, intra-abdominal infections associated with this pathogen are rare. Here, we report a case of idiopathic pyogenic liver abscess accompanied by K. ozaenae bacteremia with an accompanying literature review. |
