Its occurrence is common in tropical area, western America and Mediterranean region, while rare in Korea. Fascioliasis initially involves the liver parenchyma and then the biliary ducts. To date, there have been a few reports of biliary fascioliasis, but the case diagnosed by percutaneous transhepatic cholangioscopic examination is few.
