Abstract
Exogenous lipoid pneumonia is an uncommon condition that's caused by aspiration of fat-like materials. Paraffin oil is a mixture of liquid-saturated hydrocarbons that are obtained from petroleum, and this oil is used often as fuel for oil lamp. We experienced a case of acute exogenous lipoid pneumonia that was caused by accidental aspiration of paraffin lamp oil. We report on this case with a brief review of the related literatures.(Korean J Med 73:S971-S975, 2007)
