Abstract |
Temporary endocardial transvenous pacing is the technique most commonly used in the emergency department to treat high-grade blocks and selected dysrhythmias. The transfemoral approach provides a reliable, simple, and rapid technique for temporary pacing. It is widely used, since it is thought to be relatively free of complications. Despite the frequent use of this approach, reports of symptomatic deep vein thrombosis of the lower extremities with it are uncommon. We report a case of deep vein thrombosis in the lower extremities following transfemoral temporary endocardial pacing. (Korean J Med 75:S833-S837, 2008) |
