| Abstract |
|
Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) has a relatively slow clinical course, but death is almost inevitable within a few years once the disease progresses. The prognosis in cases of CLL that become refractory to a previous chemotherapeutic agent is especially poor, and new modalities are needed to treat CLL. We experienced a case of chemorefractory CLL transformed from small lymphocytic lymphoma that responded to alemtuzumab. We report this case and review the literature.
