Abstract
Coronary artery ectasia is a rare coronary anomaly. A 47-year old man was transferred to our ER, presenting with an acute myocardial infarction. He was a smoker, but he had no history of other diseases. We performed thrombolysis treatment. After the patient was stable, coronary angiography was performed. Coronary angiography revealed an ectatic left circumflex artery and left anterior descending artery, and also a partial occlusion at the ectatic left circumflex coronary artery with a massive thrombus. Intravascular ultrasonography showed a partial obstructed thrombus in the ectatic left circumflex coronary artery, suggesting an abnormal coronary flow pattern, but there was no evidence of unstable plaque. Warfarin was administered to treat the ectatic coronary artery with the partial obstructed thrombus.
