Benign metastasizing pleomorphic adenoma is extremely rare neoplasm, although the pleomorphic adenoma is the most common of salivary neoplasm. To our knowledge this is the first case of metastasizing pleomorphic adenoma in which pleura lesions were composed of benign pleomorphic adenoma. The literature concerning the subject is reviewed. The metastasis commonly developed many years after the excision of the primary tumor and was usually proceed by local recurrences. The clinical behavior of these dose not seem to justify inclusion in a benign category, but the reported cases failed to recognize specific parameters of malignancy. the treatment of choice for metastatic tumor appears to be surgical excision.(Korean J Med 70:S231-S235, 2006)
