Abstract
Brunner's gland adenoma is a rare benign tumor that is usually asymptomatic and results from benign proliferation of the Brunner's gland, which is normally present in the duodenum. In symptomatic patients, the most common clinical presentations are gastrointestinal bleeding and obstructive symptoms. A 48-year-old man presented with abdominal discomfort and vomiting. Endoscopic examination revealed a large pedunculated polypoid lesion arising in the bulb and prolapsing through the pylorus into the antrum, thereby creating ball-valve effect. This polyp was successfully removed via endoscopic polypectomy using IT knife and metal clip without bleeding and perforation. We report a case of Brunner's gland adenoma which cause obstructive symptom by creating ball-valve effect.
