- Abstract
- Behcet’s disease is a chronic inflammatory multisystem disorder of unkown etiology, characterized by oral and genital ulcerations, eye disease and cutaneous manifestations, as well as other involvement such as large joint arthropathies, central nervous system involvement, gastrointestinal ulceration and thrombosis of major vessels. Vascular lesions in Behcet’s disease may include deep vein thrombosis, superficial thrombophlebitis, arterial aneurysm, or arterial occulsion. Cardiac involvement, which is very uncommon, has included thrombus formation in right atrium and ventricle, tricuspid regurgitation, coronary aneurysm and acute myocardial infarction due to coronary artery involvement. Coronary aneurysmal lesions are rare complications, but they are potentially serious, life-threatening problems due to the risk ofrupture. Here, we report a case of previously confirmed Behcet’s disease, involving a coronary artery pseudoaneurysm in a 61-year-old man.(Korean J Med 70:S368-S372, 2006)
