- Abstract
- The immunosuppression associated with Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) markedly increases the risk of cancer including Kaposi Sarcoma and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL). Several recent publication suggests that highly active antiretroviral theraphy is associated with a diminished risk of HIV associated cancer, including NHL, its clinical presentation, and the treatment-related complications and prognosis of NHL. In addition, several trials have evaluated new therapeutic approaches for patients with HIV-associated lymphoma that the prospect for cure is similar to immunocompetent patients with lymphoma. We report a case of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma involving kidney in an AIDS patient. A 60-year-old man presented with palpable neck mass. Ten years ago, he was diagnosed as having HIV infection. It was confirmed as diffuse large B cell lymphoma by histologic finding with involvement of liver, kidney and bone marrow.(Korean J Med 70:S347-S351, 2006)
