Abstract
Pancreatic metastases from any primary tumor are exceedingly rare. The pancreas is an uncommon site of metastasis from renal cell carcinoma. We report a case of pancreatic metastasis from renal cell carcinoma in a 71-year-old Korean woman. The patient had a history of renal cell carcinoma treated with a radical nephrectomy 10 years previously and was found to have a mass 2 cm in diameter in the body of the pancreas on computed tomography. The patient was confirmed pancreatic metastasis from renal cell carcinoma by ultrasound‐guided needle aspiration and underwent a distal pancreatectomy, splenectomy and lymph node resection. Pathologically, the tumor compatible with a metastatic renal cell carcinoma and revealed negative lymph nodes.(Korean J Med 70:S190-S193, 2006) Key Words : Pancreas, Neoplasm metastasis, Carcinoma, Renal Cell
