Abstract |
Primary gastrointestinal lymphomas constitute 30% of all extranodal lymphomas, and only 10~20% of primary gastrointestinal lymphomas occur in the colon. Multiple lymphomatous polyposis of the colon is a rare condition that is thought to represent mantle cell lymphoma. Colonic mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma frequently appears as a single mass located around the ileocecal valve. Here, we present an unusual case of colonic MALT lymphoma that presented as multiple polyps. This patient was treated with chemotherapy after polypectomy, and follow-up colonoscopy showed no evidence of MALT lymphoma. There is no consensus on the treatment of MALT lymphoma of the colon, and this case report suggests one possible treatment. |
