Abstract
Myxedema coma is the most extreme form of hypothyroidism and manifests as central nervous system dysfunction, defective thermoregulation, and cardiopulmonary decompensation. The curative treatment is based on the administration of thyroid hormones, but the dose and route of administration remain controversial. Here, we report a case of myxedema coma that was treated successfully with a large oral dose of levothyroxine. (Korean J Med 76:S127-S130, 2009)
