Abstract
Cardiac myxoma is the most common primary cardiac tumor. It usually develops on the interatrial septum and occurs in the left atrium in more than 75% of cases. It has diverse clinical manifestations which can mimic various other diseases and which can be classified under three headings: constitutional, obstructive, and embolic. The diagnosis can be easily missed unless the clinician has a high index of suspicion. We report a case of cardiac myxoma in a 63 year old woman presenting with tingling sensation in the left arm and dysarthria. On initial exam, this patient seemed to be experiencing a cerebrovascular accident, and her symptoms turned out to be an embolic manifestation of cardiac myxoma.
