Abstract
Mycotic aneurysms occur in 3 to 15% of patients with infective endocarditis, and half of these cases involve the cerebral arteries. Intracranial mycotic aneurysms may heal with medical therapy, but most extracranial mycotic aneurysms will rupture if not excised. Mycotic aneurysms of the palmar arch have been very rarely reported and treated surgically. We describe the first Korean case of infective endocarditis with mycotic aneurysm of the superficial palmar arch, which was able to heal with only antimicrobial therapy.
