Abstract |
Extramammary Paget’s disease (EMPD) is an uncommon disorder characterized by an eruption that is morphologically and histologically similar to Paget’s disease of the breast. EMPD most commonly involves the anogenital area. Although cases of EMPD limited to the epidermis can be cured, the disease has a poor prognosis in the presence of dermal invasion. Secondary EMPD may be associated with an adjacent apocrine or eccrine gland carcinoma and may also present in association with another cancer, especially with gastrointestinal or genitourinary tract carcinoma. Primary EMPD is a rare disease entity. Moreover, only a few cases of primary EMPD with metastases have been reported. Standard treatment for EMPD has not yet been established. We report a case of metastatic primary EMPD, which was treated with combination chemotherapy. |
