Abstract
Metastatic uveal melanoma is a highly malignant disease, and the patients with this malady have a limited life span. Malignant melanoma metastasizing to the stomach is extremely rare. Here we describe a case of incidentally detected stomach metastasis from melanoma after enucleation of choroidal melanoma. A 35-year-old man, who had a previous history of enucleation for choroidal melanoma, underwent gastroduodenoscopy for a routine medical check-up. Gastroduodenoscopy showed an irregular shaped deep ulcer on the greater curvature of the high body of the stomach. Endoscopic biopsy revealed gastric metastasis from malignant melanoma. This is the first case report of stomach metastasis from melanoma after enucleation of choroidal melanoma.(Korean J Med 72:S318-S321, 2007) Key Words : Melanoma, Stomach neoplasms
