Abstract
A leukemoid reaction is a reactive leukocytosis in response to marrow stimulants, including inflammation, infection, tissue destruction and underlying malignancies. It can also occur in association with malignancies such as the lung, gastric, breast and thyroid carcinomas but rarely occurs in urologic malignancies. We report an unusual leukemoid reaction associated with an advanced transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder. The hematological abnormalities were markedly resolved after palliative chemotherapy for bladder cancer.(Korean J Med 71:S1125-S1128, 2006)
