| Abstract |
|
The normal daily production of bile in human is 500~1,000 mL. Hypercholeresis is defined as bile secretion exceeding 1,000~1,500 mL/day and is known to be associated with cirrhosis and protracted cholestasis. It causes dehydration and metabolic acidosis. We present a case of hypercholeresis occurred following relief of long-standing bile duct obstruction. This is the first report of hypercholeresis associated with bile duct malignancy in Korea.(Korean J Med 71:S984-S988, 2006) |
