Abstract
Hypercalcemia is known to be one of the causes of acute or chronic pancreatitis. Pancreatitis induced by hypercalcemia is a rare malady, but it is clinically important because it can be a diagnostic clue for hyperparathyroidism. In this report, we present a case of a 32-year-old woman who developed chronic pancreatitis due to hypercalcemia that was caused by parathyroid adenoma. She underwent surgical resection for parathyroid adenoma, extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, endoscopic intervention for pancreaticolith and an endoscopic pancreatic drainage procedure for pancreatic ductal stricture.(Korean J Med 71:S979-S983, 2006)
