Abstract |
Right-sided infective endocarditis occurs in approximately 5~10% of all infective endocarditis cases. It is associated with intravenous
drug abuse, indwelling intravenous catheters, congenital heart disease, alcoholism, and skin infection; however, infective
endocarditis involving the tricuspid valve caused by Haemophilus species is uncommon.
Here we report a case of tricuspid valve endocarditis caused by H. parainfluenzae in a 29-year-old male patient with insulin-
dependent diabetes mellitus who injected himself repeatedly with insulin under unsanitary conditions. (Korean J Med
