Abstract
Endosulfan, not restricted to use in organochlorine insecticides in Korea, is a γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) antagonist. Endosulfan is toxic in the central nervous system and cardiovascular system and may cause respiratory distress and death. We report four people who were admitted to this hospital with seizures after eating pan-fried food with endosulfan. Three patients recovered completely one to two days later. One patient presented with status epilepticus, rhabdomyolysis, acute renal failure, and pulmonary embolism. We report this endosulfan intoxication with pulmonary embolism.
Key Words: Endosulfan; Status epilepticus; Rhabdomyolysis; Pulmonary embolism
