Abstract
Lymphomas occurring in the intestine are relatively rare, and most of them are of B-cell origin. The incidence of enteropathy-type T-cell lymphoma occurring in the colon is much lower. T-cell lymphoma is a tumor of intraepithelial T-lymphocytes, most commonly occurring in the jejunum or ileum and closely associated with celiac disease. The prognosis is poor, and optimal treatment has not been determined yet. We report the case of an enteropathy-type T-cell lymphoma occurring in the ascending colon in a patient with no history of celiac disease. A 54-year-old female was admitted with complaints of hematochezia, tenesmus, and lower abdominal discomfort for 3 weeks. Colonoscopy demonstrated two large, discrete ulcers in the ascending colon, which were diagnosed as enteropathy-type T-cell lymphoma. She underwent right hemicolectomy and received two cycles of CHOP chemotherapy.
